Lakeland Leisure Village - Carnforth
The park is perfectly situated in Carnforth, South Lakes, close to the Lake District and to the Yorkshire Dales.
It sits within 30 minutes of the Lake District, Blackpool, Morecambe Bay, Lancaster City and Cumbria and there are countless beautiful villages close by including Silverdale, Arnside and Kirby Lonsdale. It is a large, prestigious, development one mile from Junction 35 of the M6, so its really easy to find.
Close by there is an RSPC Nature Reserve at Leighton Moss just 5 or 10 minutes away, which provides a great day out with lots of activities to engage the old and yound alike.

In the centre of the park is a huge lake, which provides spectacular views wherever you are in the park. Watch the ducks swimming across the lake and the swans and geese which live there. The lake has attracted many varieties of wildlife
Why not bring a dinghy or canoe along and launch it from the lake's beach, just outside the leisure complex
On the lake front there is Water's edge bar and restaurant, which has a great reputation. It provides delicious a la carte meals, or lunchtime snacks alike. The balcony outside the bar overlooks the beautiful lake, and is close to the lake's beach, so the children can have great fun too.
Within the complex there is Pure Leisure Centre, which has a 15 metre swimming pool, and a steam room close by.



There is a fantastic gym within the health suite along with an exercise room, where classes are held on a regular basis.

There are also 2 beauty rooms, where you can pamper yourself and have treatments such as facials, relaxing massages and other beauty treatments.
There is a charge for the leisure facilities as follows
Family Pass £60 for a full week, £30 for part week, or £10 per day
Adult Pass £17 for a full week, £9 for part week, or £5 per day
Child Pass £13 for a full week, £7 for part week, or £3 per day
This is payable at the Leisure Village Reception on arrival, or during your stay.
Within the leisure complex there is Cafe Lago, a tapas bar, which overlooks the pool

Places to visit nearby
You can easily visit the Yorkshire Dales National Park from the Leisure Village, through Kirkby Lonsdale where lovely walks are are a must along the River Lune. Close by are historic sites, castles, abbeys and stately homes with beautiful gardens.
Leighton Hall stately home is well worth a visit. It has a fantastic collection of antique furniture and lovely views over towards the Lake District. Birds of prey are one of the attractions at Leighton.
Carnforth Railway Station, which is very close by, was used in the film Brief Encounter, it’s well worth visiting the recently restored station and it’s Heritage Centre.
Also within easy reach are Arnside and Silverdale, designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Lancaster Canal is not far away, you can walk, cycle or hire a boat for the day and take a trip up the canal and enjoy the beautiful countryside for miles and miles. |
